Singing in a different language is really amazing. I have so much fun. I play the violin in the band. At first, I have trouble with the rhythm, but I have progressed now. I love the music we play. |

"I play in jazz-band in school. It's definitely my favourite subject with cool students and an awesome teacher. Mrs. Lull offered me to take part in the Solo Competition what took place in Bay City (not so far away from us). Lots of people from our band playing different instruments were going to take part in it too. So everybody had a lot of practice. Competition was really long, from 4 pm to 9 pm. Every of participants had their own schedule for practice. |

Celebrating the Cultural Festival of Eid
Submitted by Haseeb Ahmad, ASSE YES Exchange Student from Pakistan |
|
This exchange year has been quite a learning experience so far. I have met a lot of new people, made a lot of new friends and have learnt a lot. I always wanted to reach out to the people and tell them about the real Pakistan and what could be better than becoming an exchange student. My best experience of sharing my culture was when I celebrated the Muslim festival of Eid with my host parents Travis Kulyas and Amy Andrews of Bloomington, Minnesota, USA.
